Evening with the Authors

The Natick VNA hosted its annual Evening with the Authors on April 4, 2006 at the home of Karen Connell Morgan of Southborough.

The evening featured two nationally known authors, Barbara Delinsky (For My Daughters, Flirting with Pete, The Summer I Dared) and William Martin (Cape Cod, Back Bay, Harvard Yard). Both authors spoke about their past and recent novels and answered questions from the audience. Channel 5 Anchor Susan Wornick served as Mistress of Ceremonies.

Proceeds from the evening were distributed to the Natick VNA’s Telemonitoring Program. The Natick VNA is presently utilizing home telemonitioring for appropriate patient care in all its MetroWest communities. The system allows for daily monitoring of patients’ vital signs and weight through the use of a monitoring system placed in the home and supervised by a Natick VNA nurse. Via computer terminal, the clinical case manamgent team read the results of all vital signs daily. This system cuts down on unnecessary nursing visits and provides a daily record of patient care.  As a result patients receive consistent case monitoring in the privacy of their own homes.
